Instead of focusing on one NBA Draft prospect, Rafael and James take a trip around the basketball world to discuss the biggest stories from the week across the NBA, college basketball, recruiting, the NBA Draft and international basketball.
This week's show starts with some serious money being handed out around the NBA. Keyonte George, the No. 16 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, agreed to a five-year, $157.5 million extension with Utah and Ausar Thompson, the No. 5 pick in that same draft, agreed to a five-year, $155 million extension with Detroit.
And the money wasn't limited to former lottery picks. Pelle Larsson, who wasn't selected until No. 44 in the 2024 NBA Draft, reportedly agreed to a four-year, $60 million extension with Miami.
That gives us an opportunity to revisit some of these players as prospects and talk about what their development—and their contracts—can teach us about evaluating players before they reach the NBA.
We'll also look at what's next for other members of the 2023 NBA Draft class, hit the latest college recruiting news including Antonio Pemberton's commitment to Michigan State and finish by going around the world for some of the international performances and prospects worth paying attention to.
